Oh, had I a golden thread And a needle so fine I would weave a magic spell Of rainbow design...
In it I would weave the courage
Of women giving birth
And in it I would weave the innocence Of the children of all the earth Children of all the earth
Won't you show my brothers and sisters My rainbow design 'Cause I would bind up this sorry world With hand and my heart and mind....

Join our celebration of Golden Rule Day on April 5!
Treat others as you want to be treated. The Golden Rule can be found in the sacred texts of most religions as well as in the tradition of most indigenous cultures, and it is passed on from generation to generation. This principle of reciprocity, although simple and short in words, contains infinite depth as to how we can all thrive individually and collectively, be and feel safe, and constantly guides us to practice empathy and compassion for others.
There are many versions of the Golden Rule – in affirmative and negative forms (do unto others / do not do unto others…) and different ways we can witness it in real life.
Since 2018, in our Golden Rule Day celebration, we have modified it to include the Planet, our Earth, in the term “others” – in order to also focus on the environment, and caring for our home, as well as our interpersonal relationships: “Treat Others and the Planet as You Want to be Treated.”
This year, we are hosting 8 different virtual offerings via ZOOM that will also be broadcasted on our social media pages throughout the day!
Here is the conversation guide.
Sign up for a 1:1 Golden Rule Conversation with someone else: Once you sign up, we'll pair you with a partner. Of course you are free to find a conversation partner on your own, but this is a great opportunity to meet someone outside of your circles.
